Chat Rooms Back to 100%

Until now, the chat rooms have had limited success. The problem has not been the chat room or program itself, but rather that members could go to chat and wait there forever to find somebody to chat with. With help from Brian, I adjusted the template on the site so that you could always see who is in chat just by looking at the top of the page. This will also make it easier for guests to see how to join and get into the ...

Site Updates

Site Updates are almost complete. Thanks to everyone for being patient as we fix bugs and improve the site in general. Please send Derek an eMail if you have a news item that you would like to add to the site, or have a suggestion.

Paz and I would also like to help other bipolars create their own websites and blogs. Although we can not offer too much technical support, we can offer links to your site and free hosting. I would also be happy to help connect you with an a ...

My book is on its way

I finished the cover design and back page text. The next thing is copyediting and review--the book is called MEDS and REDS: A New York Yippie! on the Locked Ward--it is the story of my life as a Yippie!--before MI, and the many hospitalizations I suffered afterwards--it is also the story of my (successful) search for Truth through a few choice philosophies, rendering me a Hare Krishna Thelemite. I take after Guru Nanak--he combined the shar'ia of Islam with the bhajans of the Hindus and developed Sikh Dharma--similarly, I combine the Magick of the Thelemites with the devotional service of the Krishnas--wait for the next book! ...

Napa State reunion

Napa State reunion
NAPA makes auto parts, and Napa State is not a University--maybe of sorts-'Bachelor's in Cigarette Bumming". The staff and other personel were about my age in 1975 so they have gotten a little old for the rough and tumble life on the psych ward and are probably retired. Just to show what a disaster it was when Mr,Reagan closed the State Hospitals, I would like to gather a complete S-ward and demonstrate that this "option" should be revived. I have met only one ex-Napa patient in my travels, and, frankly, she needed to be back in Napa! Napa today houses MI criminals almost ...

Sugar & Salt - Jane Thompson
www.aboutbipolarbook.com
Jane Thompson is a person with a breadth of experience. She has worked as a social worker, a teacher, as a paralegal, and , of course, as a writer. She holds a BA and an MA from the University of Oklahoma. For years she wrote for the publisher of a political encyclopedia and served as a medical writer for a training corporation. It was in these positions that she learned to express herself with brevity and clarity. When she decided to write her own story, Sugar & Salt: My Life with Bipolar Disorder, this experience aided ...
