haven't been around here or anywhere, really.

my roommate had to have more surgery last week, and she's needs help with some things.  so i do what i can to keep things swept up... she is a very determined lady, however, so does a lot for herself.

i have IBS (gross, too much information?) for three days now, and sleep when i can... putting everything off for over a month, too. i just don't have the UMPH to do anything extra.

i dno't know if i'm depressed or just disgusted.  i've been isolated for three years now (by chance, not choice).  if it were up to me, i'd get out more and even take some art classes. but i don't have a car.  although i might be getting one this winter?  we will see about that.

my roommate said i can take her car anytime i like, but i only take it to the store, or when i need to go to the groomers to bathe my dog--just little jaunts close to home. i'd feel odd saying "i'm taking your car and going for a drive"... i don't want to take advantage.

i have three art commissions i've been working on since May?  (sorry k)... and i haven't finished them yet.  usually i set goals and make plans, but anxiety is getting the best of me, and so i don't have the wits to concentrate on my commissions and other things i need to do (personal responsibilities).  i have let too many things go.

this morning i managed to clean my room and organize things... did a little cleaning upstairs, and now going to tear down boxes for recycling.  trying to keep busy, but i'm sure there is a nap in my future.

Hi Francie, to me (no expert) it sounds like you are depressed, maybe you should get some kind of antidepressant from your pdoc? I really hope you feel better soon.

Hi Cathy... i do think i'm a little bit depressed, yes.  I would love to take an anti-depressant, but can't - they cause me a lot of problems.

Soon as i'm done here, i'm going to get those boxes done for recycling...and then shower, get dressed and maybe walk the dog?

thank you!  sending hugs.

I am way too familiar with what you are saying. It actually smacks me right in the face! I am there too, Francie. I just want to say though....you are up cleaning and wanting to step forward, and that deserves recognition. Be proud of yourself for that. I know what you mean, I just don't have the energy to do anything. I know that it needs to be done and I care, I'm just not going to be the one making it happen. Just remember that every step forward deserves an attaboy!

Francie: This is irrelevant to your problems, but I did some research just now--I was curious about who invented the term "metrosexual"--it was a guy name of Mark Simpson (no relation to Homer) writing in the Independent, a famous London newspaper, in l994. There is another claimant, a disk jockey for Metro radio, who says it was part of the station's promo, viz. "We are the metrosexuals" in the 1980's. Take your pick. David Beckham is the poster boy, Brad Pitt, John Kerry, and, believe it or not, Arnold is on the list, our Governator! The advertising agencies jumped on it, and here we are. Incidentally, Joe Namath was the first one for doing that pantyhose ad. Some of them must be bipolar. Well, I hope this has been a momentary distraction---

francie i'm sorry that things have been sort of difficult for you lately. please don't worry at all about my picture. i already love the picture of it that you sent me awhile back.  i don't know if it happens to you but i'll be able to go along for quite some time and just write and write and it just comes naturally and freely and i enjoy it.  then something happens and it's like i'm not even capable of writing a complete sentence and i wonder where that part of me that enjoyed and did the writing went to  and will it ever come back.  i just want you to know that i value you so much and bring so much to the boards.  i hope things pick up for you and i really really hope you're able to get your car. i know how much that sense of independence can bring.   my best wishes are always being sent to you. k
