I have just started cymbalta.for my bipolar. Has anyone been on this??? Did it work?? Any side effects??? Weight gain?? The reason I ask is the DR is trying to wean me off Depakote (weight gain ) and hope cymbalta will work in it's place. I would like to know how it work for any of you. Thanks. Jeffhans

MY doc too took me off of depakote because of the thought of weight gain. I wasnt gaing but he decided it was best for me. He did start me on cymbalta. I havn't had any side affects from it and it is working great. I've had had no real bad depression or manic episodes since I have been on it. I think its a good drug to be on. So stay with it, I think it will do you good.
