so, i should start by saying, i know meds work different for all of us. i'm sure zyprexa is great for a lot of folks.

but i had a really difficult experience with it. i pretty much checked out on three years of my life. because i was either sleeping or too out of it to engage.

it's a long story why nobody intervened. it has to do with how grateful people were that i wasn't manic anymore i think, and of course other things.

i KNOW i need to be on meds, i just believe i deserve ones that are better for me. i'm on some now. i think we deserve more than to just barely stumble through the day. i think we deserve to have an inner life, and to connect with our loved ones.

anyway. anybody have experiences like this? thoughts on the subject?

thanks.

It was in the news today that the company that makes zyprexa lost a large lawsuit because they were encouraging drs to prescribe it for disorders other than schitzophrenia.
I am sorry you lost so much time to sleep--it seems either we cant sleep or we cant do anything but--I think you will find the right drug combo for you--there are a lot of drugs out there--keep trying!

I'm taking zyprexa at the moment coz I may also have schitzophrenia as well as bp (I have psychtic episodes) and the side effects are really crap but hopefully they will go away. I haven't been taking zyprexa for long but I am still waiting for it to work.
