Ativan?

Anyone on here take ativan on a regular basis? Is that a med the docs generally prescribe for long term use?

I'm on 0.5mg every 4 to 6 hours
But My Pdoc has let me play around a bit with it. So now I take 2mg as needed. I dunno  if thy prescribe it for long term use or not. I've been on lt for like a year or two.

Well I ask cause the doc at the hospital gave me a script for 10 of the .5's and they've been helping me through the day. When I've started to get angry or anxious I've taken one and felt much better. I wonder if it would be ok to ask my pdoc for a script for them.

I don't take it. I take Valium, but it sucks! I'm asking for something else when I see the doc this time.

I like valium too, but it usually makes me throw up, so, not such a good med for me.

I don't see4 why your doc wouldn't give you an RX for it, especially if they gave it to you at the hosptial. I say ask if it helps you out.
