I've been having some obsessive thoughts that are so strange. I've never heard of anyone having these types of thoughts before. It's like I can imagine stabbing a knife into my hand, and it's almost like I can feel the pain and the thought reoccurs all day long, like I just can't get my mind off of it. One day it was a thought of cutting myself while shaving my legs and another day it was about a paper cut. Today I am thinking about fingernails scraping a blackboard. The chills just go all over me when I think of the sound. It's so strange and I've just not ever had this before, or even heard of anyone having it.

I don't think this is all that odd; lots of people have recurring thoughts of things that might seem painful, and it's quite possibly stress related. The last couple of days I've had odd thoughts about broken bones or dislocated joints. I've never actually had a broken bone or a dislocated joint, so it's entirely my imagination running wild. I don't worry about it too much, I think it's just one of those things. Like picking at a scab.

It is not strange at all.  a lot of us have thoughts like that.  I think it is our brain telling us we are really stressed out and that we need a break.  It is possible that all the thinking about going back to work is making you stressed enough to have these thoughts?

I report that I am happy to hear your responses, as I was thinking I was going mad with hallucinations or something.

as everyone has said already,we all get strange thoughts of things we feel a need to do.....the good thing is that you are only thinking them and not like me actually do them.....i wouldnt worry high,it really can be just down to stress and you are strong enough to try and push it aside
