Hey guys,

Its been a while, Things havent been too good, had alot of family and work stress lately.

My pdoc has now got me on Epilim (depakote to the americans),  Seroquel at night and half a pill of Talam a SSRI at night. I started this combination monday and Its friday arvo here and I'm feeling fantastic. Im a bit worried it may be because of the SSRI. Last time I had an SSRI I was put on Zoloft which triggered the manic reaction that got me diagnosed BP in the first place.

My question is this, anyone who's been on a ssri how long did it take you to react to the ssri if it was a bad reaction? and should I bother my pdoc now with my question?

I was on Prozac (Fluoxetine) for about a year and had a few hypomanic episodes that may or may not have had anything to do with it...they didn't start until I'd been taking it for about 6 months cos I was in a deep depression when I first started the Prozac. Sorry I couldn't help more and good luck with your new meds.

And Im manic, yay.

Im moving the last two days i've managed to pack my place up entirely by myself and shift my huge bed and matress and furniture down my steep stairs alone, Ive also been running ang and generally feeling fantastic.

Last night i didnt sleep at all and ended up going online and answering a casual relationships add, they didnt reply till this morning but some type of sense kicked in and i deleted the email and called my pdoc.

Im off the SSRI and i have to take some sleeping tablets tonight.

I wish my heart would stop racing though.

Did the sleeping tablets help, Lolli? Sorry to hear you had another episode. Keep us updated if you can, hope you're feeling better.

hello lolli,i too am on epilim, and i am also on zoloft, just wondering how much of each med are you taking?i wasn't diagnosed with bp until i had been taking zoloft for a while and the first 2 weeks of taking it i was out of my skull crazy, but it was just an adjustment period,i have been on the combo now, with sleeping tablets ,well diazapam ....for about 3 years now and it's finally balanced out for me,they first had me on too much ssri and not enough epilim and then it was the other way round but my balance came with me adjusting the levels myself which my quack was happy to let me do...and all is well, nice to meet you by the way, from tracey
