Sooooooooo.... went to see the pdoc today. Told her about my sleeping patterns this past month.(Going to bed, waking up every hour or so and then macking out on everything in the fridge) So she is having me try Respridone. Which, after my researching is Repseridal, which is not a sleeping pill, (obviously) but is used for eating disorders. So I'm thinking I heard her wrong and I can't read the Rx now because it is at the pharmacy. I'll have to fill you in more after I get my Rx from the pharmacy tonight.

Meds.  Can live without them, hate to have to take them. I have been treated for bipolarI for several years and have been on lots of different medications.  I have rapid cycling episodes. I have a problem sleeping during a manic episode.  My psychiatrist put me on Ambian CR which seems to help.  At least I sleep more now.
He really listens and responds to my episodic freak outs. I am currently on Abilify, Lamictal, Klonopin, and the Ambian.  This combination works well.  You might want to ask your doctor about some of these.

I've been on Ambien CR, Rozerem, and Lunesta for sleep. I can't find a pill that is long lasting is what the problem is. I can take something for 30 - 60 days and then it stops working. I am also on Wellbutrin, Abilify, Seroquel, Lamictal, and Ativan. I have a great Doc, it is just that as she says "A tough cookie to get to sleep and stay asleep."  Sad

I'm glad you're not on Risperidone, cos I actually gained weight on that one as well as some other side effects. Have heard of Temazepam but haven't taken it, fingers crossed it works for you.

Nicki, Zyban is pretty good, works quite well for depression and curbs cravings too.

Wow, we've got a winner? I'm glad it helped you and I hope it continues to. Is it mainly for sleep? I think my doc has stopped trying to help me sleep because when I can sleep, I sleep way too much. If she had to go through the sleepless nights, what hell they are, she would continue to help me search for the right med. I take Seroquel for sleep. Right now I'm sleeping too much, so I've lowered the Seroquel from 150mg to 75mg. Now, when I start my non-sleep cycle, 150mg won't touch me, won't even make me blink. I hate this damn illness!!!!!!!

I have learned that the Restoril will only work when I take my Seroquel. *sigh* I've been out of that for 2 days so my sleep has been shit. The doc said if this didn't help (She has me on the highest dose) that I need to come back in. Maybe she can just give me an anvil and Brian can hit me over the head with it every night! LOL

I've been taking 30mg's a night. She had mentioned I could take a second one, if needed - but I feel as though that might be too much. I'm still waking up, but only once a night as opposed to several times a night. I've also been dreaming again, which is quite nice. Smiley
