hey everyone I'm Michael aka darkmotive, I'm on 1350mg of lithium and its put a lid on my highs, however i still have energy fluctuations and moments of agitation.
if your on lithium or any other mood stabiliser, does it completely keep you on a even keel??

in my experience it takes awhile for meds to put you at an even keel. It eventually happens, but it is still possible to have bumps along the way.

hi there
im on lithium and abilify, have been for a few months now.i have to say i call lithium the wonder drug as it did wonders for me (no shitty side effects to start with ,that i had with all the other drugs).anyway i have found that my brain gets manic but my body doesnt,if that makes sense to you.i find that i can still get periods of sadness but no where near as severe as i used .....i am guessing that this is what they call stable when you feel no mania and no major depression.
i agree that it does take some time for drugs to work with your body, although i found my transition to lithium changed my moods to stable quite quickly.
at the end of the day we are all different and drugs can act differently on each of us

I'm on Lithium too and it works really well for me, I am also on Abilify and Zyban (like Wellbutrin). I have been pretty stable for some time now which is really nice, I still have mood swings but they aren't nearly as bad as they were.
