No but they sound like food intolerance symptoms...by any chance do your Lithium tablets contain lactose? Mine don't, but I think some do...

I have no idea. All I know is its lithium carbonate. On another forum somebody else said they got that at first too. Its already gone away now so I am going up to the full dose today.

Lithium is a salt-based medication (that's the "carbonate" part); salts are processed by the kidneys. If the pain was in your lower back, right around the waistline, it could have been your kidneys adjusting to the medication.

Some of the pain was there in my back but most in my intestine area. I take it the back pain isn't dangerous then?

Probably not if it's gone away. The intestinal pain could likely be some of the same problem: your body getting used to something that it's not familiar with.
But I'm not a doctor, so my opinions shouldn't be taken as medical advice. If it had persisted, it might be worth mentioning to a doctor; but if it's gone away, there's not really much a doctor would be able to do for you anyway.

The back pain is not from my kidney...I found out today when I went to the chiropractor. The pain was from a muscle in my back that has a nasty knot in it and inflammation. The chiro said there was also a lot of tension and part of my spine was way out there. Its still sore but feel better since I got adjusted. So far the full dose only has bothered my stomach minimally compared to at first. Seems as though I am already getting used to it. My question now...if a mosquito bites me...will it die?

I was wondering if the lithium would kill them. I'm feeling too good today...how long does it take to start working?

It could be med related. Could be the anxiety of starting the meds...

It almost seems like it makes me feel kinda funny since I've got to the full dose. It has made me feel kind of spaced since day one. Like I feel disconnected...its nothing alarming but I zone out sometimes.

yeah that's a side effect. You start to talk to someone and you ..................... .....oh..... ....forget what you were saying. I forget the actual term my doc used, but its like you lose the tip of your tongue thoughts. It sucks but it gets better. I have told my wife many times that "the meds make me stupid and not taking them makes me an idiot". (that pertains to me only). Not calling anyone names or implying if you don't take your meds you are an idiot. Happens when I post to...the point doesent always get to the page

your point came across.. It is important for newbies just starting meds to understand they take time to work and to adjust to their bodies. If things continue to be wonky, call your pdoc. But you have to expect some sort of change when starting meds...

...but its like you lose the tip of your tongue thoughts. You know that actually happens when I'm manic anyway...I start one sentence and change to another one and another and then forget the words to describe what I want to say...eventually I just replace it with a "you know" LOL People look at me like "um no I don't know"
