In the past 8 years, since my BPD diagnoses...have extensively studied about BPD. Did some speaking for the (DBSA) Depression & BP Support Alliance..talking of my story & BPD awareness. In treatment area...most concentration on mainstream treatments. About 1 year ago...dam, started delving in alternate treatments. One good book is: "You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise L. Hay.
On Sept 14, 2009...was the first day of 8 sessions of a program called "Renewing Life". It is held at the "Beacon House". The "Beacon House" is a unique brainchild of a beautiful caregiver named Christine.
The Beacon House, Inc. is a non-profit volunteer sustained health resource. It enables individuals to create their own “healing relationships” with family, a network of friends, medical providers, and other resources within the community. Beacon House provides care and assistance for people affected by life-changing health situations, including family and support persons. The programs and services address all aspects of healing ~ physical, emotional, social, and psychological. There are many programs to choose from. Examples: Reiki, Healing Touch, Hands on Intuitive Healing,  Massage, jin Shin Jyutsu, yoga...Cost is on a sliding scale...with my meager income...makes it affordable. Below is the mission & vision of the Beacon House & short description of "Renewing Life" course.
   Our Mission and Vision
Beacon House, Inc. will be a viable, non-for-profit, volunteer sustained community organization valued as a resource for developing integrated systems of support to assist in the healing process for individuals, families and caregivers affected by a catastrophic or life-changing health situation.

Mission
Provide resources that support the healing process for those involved in a catastrophic or life?changing health situation. Information, programs, and services will foster the discovery of joyful living, personal direction, and empowerment in the journey towards healing of body, mind and spirit.
The course "Renewing Life" is for individuals & families experiencing a health crisis. Found in health facilities & community centers throughout the US, "Renewing Life" offers the best of counseling, psychology & self healing, practices. As a adjunct to medical care, the program focuses on teaching communication skills, coping skills, & life affirming attitudes.
There are 9 people per course.(8 participants...1 facilitator) I love the gender ratio of the group, I attend....Little old me...& 8 girlie's. I feel like the proud lone rooster in the hen house. So far...so good...I know there is much to gain & I have plenteous I can contribute. As I stated before...Most of my study & treatment of BPD was mainstream. It is refreshing, invigorating to look at alternate resources. Some day...one never knows...I may be able to walk on water. In sorts...that's frightening...I drink limited amounts of water...because fish screw in it.  JB Wisconsin Bob
