Not sure what I'm feeling is this manic or not

Hi all so nice to know I'm not alone! I was dx'd with bipolar type 1 in the spring of 2007 after I had a severe mania w/psychotic break. I don't remember much from that time other than I felt great and had no idea anything was wrong with me. From what I have pieced together I actually went almost 2 full weeks without sleeping at all before I became psychotic. I do remember being taken to the hospital but I thought the paramedics were angels and they were taking me to a wedding. I spent a week inpatient that time.Pdoc put me on zyprexa and ativan which didn't work out I was a zombie finally stabilized on abilify and restoril. Didn't have anymore episodes till fall of 2008. When I was hopitalized again for depression due to not taking meds regular.Spent about a week inpatient released back on same meds.By summer 2009 Pdoc added 1500 of depakote to my med list and all has been fine. Until today I just recently moved and I think the stress is getting to me I am having insomnia and hypersensitive to noise, some racing thoughts but they aren't happy ones. could this be the begining of another manic episode?

I'm BP2, but have had mania (mostly hypomania). Sounds like your headed on an upswing. There are quite a few people here who have BP1 and they may be able to help you better. Cuz when I start to get like that, I just take extra antipsychotic. (my pdoc had told me to do this, I don't do it on my own and don't suggest anyone do it on their own, unless they have orders from their doc)

What you're having sounds like what I started on several weeks ago...what you describe is exactly how this shit started.  I have been trying to get a fucking appointment for weeks and have not got a call back yet.  I also have BP1.

Your story is similar to mine.  BP1 and in and out of the hospital although the longest I have went without sleep was 8 days.  I am also on depakote 1500mg now. 

What you are describing sounds like it could be mania.  I have started an episode before with those symptoms and the stress from the move and new environment could easily have caused it.  It would probably be a good idea to contact your doc.  Hope you feel better soon.

It sounds either manic or hypomanic to me. Cause I gone through before and am going through that currently. Ugh, I hate the feeling when I am depressed. When I am manic manic I get my house and everything else cleaned top to bottom.
