I thought I felt better today.  I laughed for the first time in weeks and a weight felt lifted.  Now I feel like crap.  Everything feels like it has come crashing down and I dont know what to do.  I hate feeling this way, I'm so angry and I dont even know why.  I feel hurt and used and everything seems all wrong.

You had a moment of clarity or more than a moment, it happens and happens to me too.  My problem now is I am speeding and manicky but never know what moment of it will be depressed, irritated or both.  I feel like its just wrong for me to even be here and the poeple I know just want to cut me loose.

I really want to thank everyone on this site for checking in and keeping it running.  I have had a terrible couple of days.  Many triggers have been tripped and Im more depressed.  I just want everyone to know I always feel like I have somewhere to go when no one else will understand.  Thanks.

Ashes, I feel sort of like you do at the moment. I feel really good and positive, even productive and my mind seems clear - then very quickly all that comes crashing down. It started last week - was really up Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday last week then have been pretty on the downward spiral since then - poor concentration, thoughts that race from one to another etc. etc. Alcohol was involved on the Wednesday night I think...

I get upset because at the beginning of one day I'll be fine then by the evening I feel like crud.  I guess something triggers that spiral but I dont know how to stop it.

I'll be supersensitive and feel fine then something happens like a minor inconvenience and then I'm all upset for hours or worse yet days.  I dunno how to stop it either...do you have a dog or other pet?

Oh coolness...its always helpful to have pets, they are always there for you...have you ever seen the vids of ferrets doing minature agility and obedience?  They even had little tiny dumbells for the retreive.

No I haven't seen that it sounds neat.  My ferrets wont listen to me at all they are a lot of fun though.  The bird is awesome too, he repeats the things we say so in the evening he starts yelling "brush your teeth, get in bed, good night etc...".

Pets are great and I agree Dreamline, they are always there for you. I miss my cat. He was a beautiful old Tabby cat who was almost human the way he would greet you with a miaow or just randomly run in, look at you and miaow!
Ashes, I find that if I am feeling down over minor inconveniences, it helps to make efforts to relax i.e. taking a walk or watching a movie. That is not always possible at work though!!!! Argh, I am so unproductive.

Ferrets are easy to teach using markers (clicker training).  They are very smart and learn quickly as long as you are consistant and use a very motivating reward.  Its a lot of fun to train animals this way, its not stressful, there is no punishment.  You know what would be cute is to train both a ferret and a parrot.  Train the parrot to give the obedience commands and the ferret to be the dog.  That would be awesome. Too bad we can't take our pets to work huh.  My boss said he didn't care when I get my own car to take my dog on delivery runs...though only in cool weather be cause he would have to chill in the car.  There is a little cat who comes in the kitchen when we have to back door open...he has to be kicked out when customers start coming in.

It could be done...seriously....individually train each pet the excersizes.  They would have to get along well of course.  First you'd teach the ferret all the obedience commands and then have him learn to heel next to a fake bird, recall to it etc.  You train the parrot to give the commands, ex: when you tell them to begin an excerze like "heel" you say ready? forward...the bird would be trained to say heel and walk forward.  Its complicated but it can be done...if I only had both a ferret and parrot.
