I wanna know, since when? I have known many people who have BP and have bouts of rage to varying degrees, myself included.
I was reading this blog about how Mel Gibson is allegedly BiPolar. The article goes further stating that rage is not a symptom of Bipolar. This was stated by a clinical psychologist. Um, am I going crazy or is this untrue? What do you guys think? Here is the blog if you want to get a good laugh:

http://tw0.us/Jcd (I used a tiny URL generator because the url was huge.

Here is what the blog said:

Rage is not a symptom of bipolar disorder:

“I don’t know if it’s a panic attack or if it’s just more uncontrolled rage. Rage isn’t a symptom and doesn’t stem from bipolar disorder — but if you take into account his issues with his relationship with Oksana, on top of everything else, his mental health could be in part [to blame].” — Clinical psychologist and host of VH1’s Dad Camp Dr. Jeff Gardere

was it love or was it the idea of being in love?
or was it the hand of fate that seem to fit just like a glove?

He must have gotten his degree from the internet.  Bring him here and let me show him how much rage I can generate from morons who have no idea what they're talking about.

Watch out, Lulu's in a rage!!!  I Shit You Not He's obviously not familiar with the range of symptoms people can display and ses things in a black and white way...some people display rage and others do not but it is still a symptom common to many bp sufferers

Mel Gibson is an absolute dickhead and a naughty boy Bottom Whack
Trouble is, we didn't need this scandal to prove it.

Just because its not the the list of symptoms doesn't mean its not one...I mean hello there are others not in their list either like hypersexuality and yeah that's a symptom too!!!!

When I was first diagnosed my Pdoc told me that I was full of rage and that was a huge red flag symptom. This guy really should apologize to the whole Psych. community for being misinformed. His ignorance just fuels other people's ignorance about the mentally ill.

You know, when all those cell phone convos came out with him screaming the first thing I thought of was bipolar disorder.  They aired one that had him saying he could hurt her or himself and I was just like.. he's crying out for help and no one is looking beneath the surface.

Not that I condone his actions. Absolutely not.  But he needs to get some help before something horrible happens.

I really do hope he gets the help he needs...maybe if he does he could speak out and raise awareness for all of us bipolars, once he gets evened out.  Stigma sucks as does misinformation.

Stigma sucks, yes. If he does have bipolar then I hope he gets treated and raises awareness. However, I still don't particularly like the man and the way he treats his girlfriend and others.

I internalize my rage or come here and vent. That usually does the trick.

thats so silly,i think almost everyone in the arts has some sort of mental issue, thats why we are here i think, aren't we so entertaining, definitely never a dull moment according to my family...ha...i feel proud that he's an aussie, and he's nuts,, :rolling:and my doc has simply referred to my rage !!! as irritability..ha thats such a polite term.the truth is they are trying to understand it from the outside and i don't think anyone can really, even sometimes we have a hard time understanding it and we are so different in the way bp affects our lives,it's all too organised if you ask me...
