Lamictal can cause severe skin rashes and they can be fatal even. Ick. Well this sucks, I have what looks like a sun rash on me, not that bad though, its barely noticeable actually. Its only slightly itchy and maybe its from the heat I dunno. Its been 115 here lately. Its all over me, you can only see it if you look real close thank god. I called my pdoc, had to talk to the nurse who didn't take me seriously when I was manic. I hate that bitch. Anyway, I really hope I don't have to quit taking it...it is really working now...I mean OMG I feel normal! I really want to be able to keep taking it.

Screw the nurse...you need to get in to see the Doc so they can actually look at your skin. If it is serious, then you need to get off of that med. I know you don't want to, but unfortunately it is hit or miss with meds. Maybe ask about Depakote? I took that with Lithium and it made me feel really calm...the side effects [for me] were too unbearable to live with, I was really physically sick from it. I really loved it, but the side effects were ruining my quality of life.

My pdoc said to get off of it completely now because it was all over me. Its not worth the risk of it developing into something else. He didn't tell me that, she called me back today. So basically, I am stopping the lamictal, still on lithium 1200mg and have to wait till the 24th when I see the doctor about trying something else. Well I hope I don't bounce back all manic and shit before that.

P.S. I am going to the health food store and buying some GABA. A lot of the bipolar meds work on increasing GABA or something to do with that...as do benzos.

Have you tried Calms Forte? Hyland makes it...they are a homeopathic American company and I think you can get it at Walgreens. I use it sometimes, but Valium works much better...if I am not too bad I take the Calms Forte, but lately I have been needing 20 mgs of Valium to help with my manic-ness. Sorry about the bad side effect you had....I have had my share of those...it makes it a lot harder to deal with BP when you are med sensitive, but it can be done[I'm trying hard to live with it.] Anyway, I hope that you & the Doc can get it figured out...try not to worry, ok?

My friend gave me some klonopin in case I need it. I feel nervous today, took some but maybe I should take more. I only took half. I'll have to check walgreens for that other stuff. I have butterflies in my stomach right now.

In my experience, klonopin is slow acting and long lasting. I take 1/2 to 1 mg in the morning and i can remain somewhat calm all day (on zoloft for anxiety as well) but you can't tell if the klonnopin has 'kicked in' like the xanax or ativan or valium...it DOES work (for me). I hope your anxiety subsides.,.it's a terrible thing to deal with.

I on the other hand do not feel as though klonipin or ativan can be felt kicking in. was on klonipin didn't do shit, now on ativan and do not like the fact that I can't feel it kick in. So it's not like I can say Ohhhhhhh yea.... things are going to get better here real quick! Like I can with let's say, seroquel. I mean, are we supposed to feel it kick in? I still don't feel any relief in a breif amount of time -- it seems like it takes a while for it to kick in. And then I don't even notice it, other people do. They ask me if I am high! LOL I a. supposed to take .05mg but I actually take 2mg; hey the doc said if it didn't work, take more!

Maybe some people don't feel it kick in because the other meds like seroquel are so much stronger than the benzos....
