He is having surgery right now to take out his appendix.  Sad  I'm worried because he has a major health issue.  He only has one kidney that is not his and hasn't been able to take his meds for a few days.   So this whole thing is going to be a lot harder on him than somebody else.

Wow...really sorry to hear he is ill.....hope he has no difficulties and a speedy recovery.
Try to not freak out too badly...I know it's hard, but try to be strong so you can hold his hand.

My mom and dad are at the hospital w/ him...they haven't heard anything yet.  I know sometimes they have to wait for a surgeon and stuff.  It might take longer with him because of his donor kidney being on the same side.  I will probably go see him tomorrow morning...I think I should just go to bed tonight.  They are there to see him after he wakes up, so he's not alone.   I just want to know he is ok and its over before I can sleep, you know? The 30min surgery took like 3 hours...they said his appendix had ruptured probably 2 or 3 days ago!  If he hadn't gone to the hospital last night, they said he probably wouldn't still be alive this morning.  They said he didn't feel nearly as bad as he should of because of all the steroids he has to take.  Even then he felt horrible and was in a huge amount of pain, he couldn't even move sat night, thought about calling 911 but couldn't even get the phone or tell anyone.

Despite how sick he is, they said the whole surgery went fine and for that he is doing well.  They are focused on getting the infection under control more than anything.  I don't know if they have to take him off his meds or not.  They said they would rather risk him loosing his kidney than dying from the infection (that's how bad it is).  The surgeon said he flushed up his abdomen like 15 times to get all of that out.

Now the fucking FDA took my pain med off the market right before thanksgiving.  I went to get it filled and the pharmacist told me it was banned by the FDA.  So now I had to call the answering service and they said they would page my doctor.  So I have no idea yet if I will have it when I need it or not. Sad I've had enough.

I went to see my brother today and he was sitting up today.  He said he felt better...it pisses me off that thay are feeding him crap.  They give him nothing but broth (ok) and "juice" and jello.  The "juice" is water, high fructose corn syrup, then fruit juice.  WTF how is he supposed to get better if they are feeding him bacteria food.  The "applesauce" is as bad.  I don't get it.

hospital food sucks, especially when they don't feed you. There must be a reason why they have him on a liquid diet. When I was in the hospital for a week for my gallbladder, I was given NOTHING to eat until my gall bladder became less inflamed. I got to eat twice, and the 2nd time, the nutritioinist told me that I shouldn't be eating any of the things they had given me.  WTF

I just wish the liquid diet was REAL juice not corn syrup, and gellatin without corn syrup and red dye...you know?  Healthy bland nutritious liquids.  I want him to heal dammit.

Can you try & bring him some real juice? Maybe a shot of wheatgrass? Or some organic juice? Organic chicken broth? I would ask & see, or just smuggle some in when you go see him?

Tomorrow we are going to take him some organic chicken broth.  I don't have any juice but could make some out of some fresh apples and pineapple.  Better yet that way.  Today he could only keep ice cubes down.  But other than that, he is feeling better.  We would also like to smuggle in his cat but that would be hard.  He would be very pissed at being in a book bag.

A Cat in a bookbag!  ROFL

Yeah I think that would be one pissed off feline.

Good for you for bringing better food in....maybe the hospital will get a clue.
