because i started working, i had to cancel my doctor's appt this week. i needed to get my prescriptions refilled and i thought i could get someone to help me do that. my case manager said that the doctor cannot refill prescriptions without being seen. so now i have to wait until april 3rd. that is the soonest appt...so i will be without lamictal for 20 days and i have some samples of effexor which are going to run out before then. i am really worried. especially since coming down from effexor is like heroin withdrawals or something.

Being without med for that long is unacceptable.....call your Doc and demand some samples to tide you over. Remind him of the oath, "first do no harm"...explain that being without meds will harm you & any progress you have made. Beg the doc, if you have to.
Good Luck
Paz.

Have you tried your general doc? Sometimes they will prescribe these meds. One time the er prescribed me enough to get me through until I could get in to see my pdoc because my meds got thrown away during an argument.
