Hi all,
I have tried many different medications over the years because some of them only seem to work for a certain  amount of time which is extremely frustrating!
I was only ever diagnosed with bipolar 11 two years ago as I was more depressed a lot of the time and then sometimes I was up but not to the point were I did not know what I was doing, I just thought I was a little crazy due to an abusive childhood.
I got into a lot of debt, started varies courses that i never finished, could not keep friends, had extreme anxiety, developed phobias etc.
What I found odd was that I could actualy go from one day being quite confident to the next day not being able to answer the phone, answer the door or even leave the house and drive my car and sometimes my mood could change from one hour to the next at the drop of a hat and I could not control them and I was very irrational and when I came back to normality I was upset by the way I had treat people close to me and how I had pushed people away and it was to late by then.
I hardly have any friends now and apart from a boyfriend, I am very isolated and I dont trust people and I am so negative about life.
the medication that I have been taking is lamictal which worked well untill 6months ago when I fell into a depression and didnt come out of it so i was perscribed reboxetine and my dosage of lamictal was reduced from 300mg to 200mg.
my problem now is the I feel very strange. I had to take 2mg twice daily then up it to 4mg twice daily.
I have been taking it for 8days and although I dont feel weepy/emotional/suicidal I feel numb and unable to function not long after taking the tablet each day and I have no energy to even talk (which might not be a bad thing) I seem to wake up during the night every hour or so and I dont know why coz I still feel tired and go right back to sleep only to wake up again and again.
I go back to see my physciatrist in 2 wks but I am seriously tempted to stop taking this stuff because I feel like these side effects are not going to go away and I will suddenly have energy again?
I am extremely sensitive to any meds that I take even when I start on the lowest dosage, I feel like I am a big problem to every one around me including the therapists that I see and that they just want me to accept terrible side effects and just go away.
But I refuse to give up a poor quality of life for another that is no better!
I know the ultimate decision is mine but I would be extremey grateful if any one can offer me some advice, especially if they have taken the same meds. I never had any side effects with the lamictal

I have never heard of reboxetine, but I googled it and found this ( at Wikipidia) for the side affects:

Common side effects of reboxetine include: dry mouth, constipation, headache, drowsiness, dizziness, excessive sweating and insomnia. Hypertension has been infrequently seen.

In 4 to 8% of all patients treated the medication has to be discontinued due to following reasons (percentages represent mean values):

insomnia 1.3%
excessive sweating 1.1%
vertigo/hypotension and paraesthesia 0.8%
dizziness, impotence, and other urological problems 0.5% each
Some other rare side effects include anxiety, loss of appetite, loss of libido, urinary retention in men, pain on ejaculation, increased orgasm intensity, and premature/quickened ejaculation.

Reboxetine is normally well tolerated. So far no attributable fatalities have been noted.
