I am 37 and I am finally happy that I'm alive, but on the other hand I am still trying to like me work on me as a person so I can live that life truely happy. I find people push me away they say they love me for me but they don't show it. that's how I feel weird but true.

Sick,

I think that we all feel that way... still trying to find ourselves beyond this sickness/ illness/ disorder whatever you want to call it.
I think that when people find out that we are bipolar, they don't really know how to act. They think they have to act a certain way, when they really don't. At least that is what I have found.

yeah phyllis that's what i mean some people try and they do ok with it but some are afraid to try at all even if they want to and some treat us like we have the plague and block us out. it is a hard way to live but we do it everyday even when we don't want to anymore I love coming here and posting and replying to others posts gets out my feelings and I can see other peoples feeling and identify with most of them

GarryV...I sure don't have any advice on liking yourself because I haven't figured that one out yet. I found it hard to deal with people also which is exactly why I made the decision to just stay away from everyone (not that I'm recommending that to you). I wanted to say "HI" although I can't be of any help to you on this subject....try me on another one though.

I

I'm still learning to find myself too. Especially as a bp I find it difficult to be around people as well, simply because there are so many rules and i haven't any hope of remembering them. Sometimes I feel like i'm feeling my way around this world in the dark. I just know what I like and what I don't, so this is me.
