Today I am having major problems with my anxiety.  I feel sick to my stomach my hands are shaky and its hard to breath.  I dont know if I should call my doc.  I have been taken off my lithium and haldol so I can start trying to get pregnate and im afraid my anxiety is due to the loss of these meds.  Help.

you are probably right. if it is really bothersome to you you can call the doc. otherwise, the only thing you can really do is ride it out. try listening to some calming music or smelling something soothing (candle, lotion, oil warmer, etc...).

Unfortunately going off meds tends to be hard on anxiety. Did they get you to go off them slowly? Or was it an immediate stop?

Thanks for the replies.  My hands are a little less shaky but im still feeling anxious.  I went off my meds slowly and this seems to be the first problem I have had.  Ive been off them about a month now.

Sometimes anxiety can be the first symptom of a mood swing....I would go back on something if I were you...I can't remember but aren't you Dx'd bipolar1?   I can't imagine trying to have a kid, I can't go off my meds, what kind of parent would I be mood swinging crazy like I do?

anxiety is totally psychological... it has physical symptoms sure, but the physical symptoms manifest once mild anxiety kicks in... this is all in your head believe it of not...

i discovered this a few days ago that i feel can help you... it's called the linden method... i visited the linden website and discovered tons of testimonials including some from psychologists and psychiatrists that use the program on their patients... the website claims 144,000 people  have successfully used the program so far... up until now it has been used exclusively in areas throughout europe... it comes with a full 1 year guarantee and has a support team available made up of psychologists and trained councilors ready to you to help you apply the program if you should ever need any help... anxiety is all in your head... it's purely psychological not physical... it can cause physical problems though but i'm sure you're probably aware of this already... how can you not want to try something that comes with a full one year money back guarantee!!!  Grin anxiety is a bitch man... i know where you're coming from...

if you can't afford the money and you're willing to break software laws, a good friend from another site to me she found it's available on piratebay, where you can download a cracked version for free!

FYI I may have sounded meaner than I meant to in my last post.  I'm not saying bipolar people shouldn't have kids its just that, maybe see how you do for a long time with no meds first, 9 months is a long time....because you would want to be well during the pregnancy and afterwards...even "normal" people can have postpartum depression.  I think Paz did.  I would seriously get myself well first if I was going to incubate a human life.  This doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't do it, look at Kensho!  You read about the orthomolecular medicine?  Just saying, don't skip the first steps and jump to the last.
