So....my Dr is not working with me. I told him I'm quitting therapy and I want off my meds. He was open to trying it but he said its bad timing. If I move and start a new job he doesn't think we should mess with it. So I told him that I wonder if I really need them. Maybe all my issues really were acute and BP is the wrong dx. He said maybe but he still has concerns about BP. So basically I really needed him to say that he is confident that there is a chronic problem and I should stay on meds. If he said that I wouldn't feel silly taking them and wasting his time every 6 weeks. Now he validated my questions and now I feel even more ridiculous taking meds that maybe I don't need at all!!! He doesn't know the history from the beginning of everything so he's only seen me the last year which has been fairly stable. I'm kind of angry that he won't just call my last doc to get a verbal history. He has the records but can't read the writing! Anyway what does your doc say about trying alternative treatment or trialing off meds?

my pdoc didn't have a problem weaning me off meds. but I weaned myself off instead of having her do it because honestly it was too expensive to see her anymore....

i have a fucking freak for a doctor... he's totally opposed to alternative treatments, he actually told me if i continued to use them he wouldn't see me as a patient any longer... if i didn't need him for my partial long term disability insurance coverage, i would have never returned to him... he completes paperwork every six months so i'm stuck right now... so i'm just going to lie to him from this point on... if he's that stupid to believe me shame on him... he has no clue i've dramatically reduced my meds, what he don't know won't hurt him nor me... check out my post spongebob... it's in the "information zone" forum, the title of the thread is "orthomolecular medicine" the date of the particular post was November 04, 2011... it's in 5 or 6 independent posts because of character limits of the website...

if you're getting any relief at all while on your meds you should really tighten up your diet first so that you can with stress better... i posted a list of instructions i gave jennie in her thread called "Wish my Meds would make it all go away"... in the "just need to babble forum" it's a seven part post... in it i explained pretty much what i did to overcome anxiety depression and mania in three months... it's very important that you be careful... trust me, i'm that wants to see everyone off meds but you have to carefully plan your attack with this shit or it can bite you and take you down and that's the last thing i want to see happen to you... you can beat this... it's hard because it requires commitment but it's easy if you're into it...

meds suck!   finger

Oh I forgot, I told this guy I want to see a naturopathic Dr. I just want to find out if the would have an opinion or suggestions. Out of the whole conversation the only thing he seemed to feel strongly about is that I should not combine natural medicine with the current treatment. He said "those doctors" don't always understand the interactions between natural and medicinal treatments. I was kind of shocked.
Yep I agree that diet and exercise are super important. That is a very big challenge for me. I think that is really where my focus should be right now. I gave always had trouble with my weight and that's probably the place I should start.

As long as you start somewhere you're good.  Diet and exercise is a great place to start.  If the naturopath is worth a shit she/he should know about interactions...its always good to double check behind docs though.
