Okay, I've noticed something weird, when I take my medication at night, NOTHING happens. I'm hardly tired and spend the whole night up, it's like I haven't taken anything at all. But when I take it during the day, it knocks me on my ass. What is that? WTF Is anyone else like this?

I was like that. I don't have an answer on how to fix it though. Sad

Never did really. Sad Sometimes what you eat and when you eat can have something to do with it. Like if you have something fatty (junk food and what not) really close to the time you take your meds. That can make the meds not feel like they are kicking in.

Some meds have a delayed effect...that's happened to me with pain medication....nothing....eat something...wham!  I wonder can you adjust your dosing earlier?  You talking about klonapin?

I think this might be the # 1 problem with Bipolar Disorder! Seriously, it happens in both depressed and manic states! Sleep patterns fuck you up (sorry for the profanity but it is the only way to describe this)! I had bad reactions to sleep meds so now I use herbs!

I said no to sleep meds too and better off this way.  I use herbal teas, low dose melatonin, darkness (unless it creeps me out).  Maybe your b/f could give you a message to relax you. Wink  Sleep meds can cause the opposite problem when withdrawn.

Dreamline is right! I tried Ambien for a couple of days and had a VERY BAD reaction. I woke up the next morning to find out I was doing shit in my sleep state. I did everything they told me to do! I took it right before jumping into bed and would do things in the early morning hours... like shower with clothes on, take out the trash (and lose my cell phone and glasses outside), and even cook (a mix of ungodly foods) and eat the shitty food I made! I have been using lavender spray and taking Velarian Root for the past three weeks and have slept fine every night since!

Well for now I've tried taking a bath with bath salts, chamomile tea, listening to calm music and playing a few easy video games after taking my medication, along with 3 different vitamins for calmness and lots of vitamin d and b. and it seems to help a lot more than any sleep medication. I also try to take them an hour after I eat anything. A message sounds nice.. Smiley lol  But still, some days my meds just say fuck you and dont work anyway.  WTF

I have a script for ambien and my gut feeling says no...I read about the sleep walking and worse...just can't chance that shit.  Never tried it.  Glad I haven't.

Meds just sucks, depression sucks too...just keep it up with the other stuff...it won't 100% fix it but help you get through it until the meds work.

Here's my list:

rooibos (African red bush)
chamomile
lemon verbena
valarian root
spearmint
peppermint
ginger
Trader Joes "Well Rested" tea
there's other relaxation/sleep blends

Also at least an hour or so before bed, make sure there are no bright lights on, no TV, no computer, no blue lights.  Also it easier to sleep if your room is about 65 give or take, if your feet get cold wear socks and make sure its pitch black (if that makes you paranoid get a red night light).  Anything you do before bed should be winding you down, no last minute chores (like vacuuming, or bathing the dog lol).  Hope this helps.

When I was going through that even the sleeping meds didnt knock me out.  The only thing I found that helped was Seroqil but I had to stop taking it because it was making me sleep until noon.  My sleep issues have changed over the years now my major problem is feeling tired during the day.  Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Smiley I'm pretty bad for having things on in the night/doing stuff right before I try to go to bed, especially with being online. I also have a fan running all night because I feel better with background noise. I hope it's not what's keeping me awake. I'll definitely try some of these out, no more cleaning right before I go to bed! Smiley
