Has anyone that's in the U.S. on here applied for S.S. Disability?  Recently?
I'll be going through the process soon.
Anything you want to share about the experience?

Thanks.

Yeah....its very depressing for me...took me forever to fill out the papers, I had somebody help me with it just because of my lack of motivation.  I have the idea that this will fail (as it often does for people) and writing all that stuff is like writing everything you hate about yourself down.  It really sucks.  I have had to leave it alone for a while...This may sound stupid but I feel like I would be admitting defeat if I send the completed papers in.  I'm working on some designs for my dad (he is an engraver).  Problem is, I can't draw for shit anymore.

Sorry that is not what you are probably looking for, not much help...goosmuffin applied and got denied, which was fucked if you ask me.  It about how you present your situation, if there is any fabrication in their minds that you can work, they deny your ass.  They really suck.

Thanks, Dreamline.

After 22 ECT (shock) treatments hopefully they won't think I'm making this up.

my sister just applied for my nephew and was denied. she got the same song and dance I got "you make too much money". I applied twice and got denied. But you have had ECT so that might help you out to get it.

Yeah I'm thinking the same, you could probably get it easier.  I think the fact that I have back problems, anxiety/panic and bipolar I have a chance too.

I am currently on SSI because of my illness.  When I was going to apply I was told that they always turn down the first request and you have to have been unable to work for at least 5 months.  They looked over all of my docs info and sent me to their own doc.  They also looked into therapy from when I was a child.  Good luck.
