I ran into a acquaintance who helped me in the past to get a job.  She now owns a dog training business.  She's pushing me to make my dog into a service dog for anxiety (she suffers as well).  I am going to my therapist today and going to talk about it w/ her.

Pros:
I have the perfect dog
It would help me a LOT
Dog is 90% ready (minor training needed)

Cons:
No support from parents/mental health care
No transportation
No money

I talked to my therapist today and she was very cool with the idea!  I guess I should have been more direct with her before.  I thought that because she wasn't a dog person she wouldn't help...I was wrong.  Anyway, she said to get a note from the doctor because it may have more clout.   Grin

Why won't your parents help you? Don't they want you to have some sort of job or something to do so you feel better about yourself & life in general?  WTF

They won't provide transportation for the dog (accept in the back of the truck crated and my dad "needs" the truck.)  They won't allow my dog in the house, not even restricted to my room only...therefore grooming (in winter) and housebreaking becomes a challenge.  He has never pissed anywhere in public (accept at a petstore where a nasty dog already pissed) but I'd like to be more sure he won't do that.  They think anything to do with Logan is a dumb idea and only recently have they acted like I should even have him.  Stuff like that and they think the agoraphobia is just me choosing to never go out being lazy.

sounds fun it would be awesome my parents wont allow a dog in the house either and where i live no matter what the dogs go wild out here whether pickin up road kill chasing cars or just hunting everything in the woods eventually they start taking care of themselves and then get hurt by cars other dogs or whatever all the neighbors try to have them and they just dont seem to last as obedient dogs but it sounds so cooll!!
