I have found that working 40 hours a week is really making me sick.  The problem is that I really need to work.  Has anyone found a way to manage the stress of dealing with a 40 hour a week job (in retail) without becoming so ill that you have to quit.  I don't want to go on disability.  I don't feel like I am disabled, it is just hard to manage work and home because I really need lower stress and more rest.  I tend to cycle more, get really irritated, and have a hard time staying on meds and just generally in control.  Any ideas...?

Yoga. Work out once or twice a week, and that should calm your mind and relieve tension. For philosophy, get a book called Sri Isopanisad, by HDG A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. When we can see our real purpose in being here, work is put into it's proper position.

I haven't found a way yet to make my work days less stressful. During my busy season (Aug - Oct.) I am on call 24/7 and sometimes have to travel and be up for long periods of time and don't get enough sleep. If it wasn't for my meds I think I would be more of a wreck! When I can I just stop for a minute and take a deep breath. Somtimes I find a bathroom and cry my eyes out.
