A few days ago,I was on my regular messege board of choice.I won't say which one but its not in this network. Its a general messege board on online market place. But anyway,I began to realize that the board has seen alot of new people lately and alot of the regulars were disappearing. Its no wonder because its become "THE BATTLE BOARD" as I now call it.At any time of day you can log on to see people fighting over polictics, religion, and any number of sensitive subjects.Today there is a argument going on about incest. Its was really heated. Some people just post outlandish comments to stir the fire now too.Which makes it hard to know the truth about how anyone really feels,,so what the use.I wanna talk to people not fakes. The words have become very harsh as some choose to slam eachother and act like 14 year olds. And the board has divided into little gangs. They target one person.Luckily I'm still being treated well, although that can't last if I start giving my opinoins. It goes from the level of the "Your mama wears combat boots" arguments I remember when I was young,to trashing religions and even those that take a stand. Before long it starts getting in your brain and you become defensive and think on the opinoins that piss you off.I've never met so many know-it-alls in my life.Almost everyone there has become defensive and argumentitive or dropped out of sight.I wonder how this happened and the signs are all there.Somewhere back a while ago, things got negitive with the issues about the market place this board is on.And the negitive vibe has been kept alive by the lukers that started coming in during the crisis.
So I thought the other day.I need to find people that understand me.And people I can understand. As I just don't wanna live life in a argument all the time.Theres no need in arguing unless it benifets the greater good.So I search for a board and found this one.And I want to thank you all for the great welcome.I already feel better just being here.Anna

hi! i've noticed that a lot of people like debates, and will give their opinions until they are blue in the face, and seems they will almost fight to the death to get their point across.

i also think the majority of these people are having fun with it...

although i'm not a great debater, lots of people believe they are.... from where i sit, i think it is all a game to them....

i've been on other boards and forums and certain people rubbed me the wrong way.  certain topics also bugged me... i just didn't look at them.  that's my style when it comes to self-preservation.

i hope you don't let these people bother you... sending hugs!

Hi,
I am glad that you prefer our message board, you have made many positive contributions, and we are very grateful. I think the thing that is different about our site is that people come here to be themselves, not act like assholes. We are free thinkers here, and all of the members seem to respect that about this site.

I don't really mind the debates.Thats part of it there. Sometimes I learn form it. But there are people there now that truly are there to stoke their own ego's by putting others down. Theres this one girl that is after me, just waiting for me to engage her in an argument. I always end up disapponting her on purpose by sitting on fence in my opinoins in her threads.

The only subject I really make a stand on is hunting. I never say people shouldn't hunt, thats an indivigual discision. And I would never force my opinoin of anyone. Unless there are on my property. I'm repectful while one guys picks at me constanly for not letting hunters on my land.  To me the type hunting he does is just tricking the animal with fake hills and abundant feed, just to get them close enough to the hidden tree stand to murder them. He argued I was wrong with the staving deer, overpopulation and hunter rights arguments. All I ever siad was not on my land. But he insisted until I had to take a stand. I told him if he came to my house in a loincloth with a spear I would let him hunt. Thats thats real hunting and anything less was tricking the animal. He didn't come back in the thread.
But my point is,lately I've been finding myself thinking on some of the srgument there that make me mad.So I have started slacking off for a while there.Although it is where I sale my handmade goods,so I need to stay in contact with the nice ones.I have just started avoiding thread I tend to get too "pasionate" about. haha.

And I love getting to be myself yes. I will try to improve my spelling though. That is something I need to do for myself, as well as others.

I agree with you about the hunting, Anna, and we do the same thing about people hunting on out land. As far as the message board, didn't you say you are pretty passive? I'm not and it just may spark a flame up in me, but I hope not.

I can be most of the time. I have finally gotten to a place with my temper, where most of the time I can control it. Only a few things make me really mad. The few things I get upset about are really just that I'm so passionate about them. Short of someone hurting someone innocent,I'm pretty easy go now.
I think its because I took up yoga and meditation. My meditations are not all light and fluff.I get out my angry out. My own twist. Some don't agree with it. I don't care. It works.

What sort of things do you make, there may be a few of us that might want something.

See, I would have told him if he wanted to hunt on someone else's land, and that person didn't want him there, he should make an offer to buy the land. He can blather on all day about "hunter's rights", but if he's not willing to respect another person's property rights, then they have no reason to respect his hunter's rights.

And if I was in a really bad mood, I'd ask if he would give me permission to come to his house and shoot his dog; that if he says no, he's not respecting my hunter's rights.

How did we get from debating to hunting? Speaking of debating, the Jehovah's Witneses came by today--fortunately, they were looking for somebody else--but they left me an article anyhow--on whether or not there is one true religion--I presume it says yes, there is, and it's theirs--so why bother reading it! They are living proof that you can prove anything from the Bible! Anyhow, dont let me rile up anybody who likes the Bible! When Mary Baker Eddy does her "spiritual interpretation" of it, I like the Bible, too. Otherwise, it's a crazy-making book--so many people have gone crazy studying the Bible. Don't mind me, I'm just having fun!!

I can't say I disagree with you about the bible and I believe alot of it. I have a big problem with the text that were left out,cut out,and munipulated. But I don't wanna get anyone riled up either so I'll leave it at that. Not the best subject matter for me to get into.

Anna, it's your choice not to let anyone hunt on your land, and others need to respect that.  I wouldn't want a bunch of people with guns on my land, either... let them buy their own land.

the Bible... Jehovah's witnesses?   Shocked

No comment on the bible issue due to debate potential. Please don't make it a debate and end it. This site isn't about that at all.
