Klonopin has anybody taken it before or now

I was just put on Klonopin today I was wondering how it will make me feel?
I am afraid of being drugged up, sleepy, or become addicted to it since I am a recovering addict.
So if anybody has some input I would appreciate it thanks.

I took it and it didn't do a whole hell of a lot for me. Can't remember the dosage I was on. I know it has worked for other people that I know.

It's the only thing that will help me sleep without the drug hangover I get with others like seroquel.
My doc prescribed enough for a couple of weeks a while back because I was going so long without sleep.
She won't continue because she says it's addictive.
I liked it ... I woke up feeling refreshed .... pretty rare, since I hardly sleep at all.
I remember a quote attributed to Timothy Leary, 'I've taken acid every day for 20 years and haven't found it the least bit addictive'

I have been on klonopin for years. It is the only thing that has been affective in treating my severe anxiety. At times I take as much as 6 mg a day but most of the time I only take 3 mg. It does help you to sleep but it does not make me sleepy during the day. I think it works pretty good with other meds and does not seem to have side effects for me. It is addictive but is not hard to get off of. I ran out last week and could not get any for three days. It was hard to sleep and my anxiety was off the hook but I did not have any symptoms of addiction.

hi donna14, I take it for anxiety also along with Buspar it seems to calm my nervous and my nervous thinking like I have to get the fuck out of where ever I am when it happeneds. The doc started me on a low dose 1.5MG a day to go with the 30MG of Buspar I was already taking. I also find that the rest of my meds calm me down to so I guess that helps Lithium 1,350MG and Seroquel 200MG and on all this I sleep well at night and wakeup refreshed and am not tired all day.

I'm going to ask my doc about this b/c the seroquel just keeps me groggy for too long and makes my sleep patterns unsteady. My anxiety is through the roof so I am popping valium every few hours with only little results. It would be great if I could treat both with 1 med.
