I have to say this everytime I go to see him. My doctor is the best. Guess thats why I have never left for another in 21 years. He helps me stay stable. If anything is off balance he helps me either adjust to it or he adjust my meds to help me deal. He grows with the times too. Always up on the lastest advances but more importantly the best meds. He doesn't believe in trying out ever new med on his patients. He believes in finding meds and other methods that work and sticking to them. Today we talked about my meditation and how its helped me over the years. He's done alot of reseach on the subject. He is encouraging about the negatives in my life and tells me I don't have to be exposed to anything I don't like. My kinda guy.

You are a very lucky person.  Most people don't have such a good pdoc.  I too am lucky with my doc.  He has worked very hard to keep me stable and even harder over the last two years helping me deal with what has been perpetual instability.  I wish everyone had the same experience that we have had.  I have been with my pdoc for 15 years and plan on staying with him until he retires.

He even look very sad when I told him about my cay dying. He has cat picutres all over his office. Even one that hangs from a swing. haha. But I felt his compassion as he said he was sorry. I was dealing with family issues today and as always he gives great advice. Following it isn't always easy but I try. The best part was whne he looked me in the eye and our eyes locked while talking about how my family expects to much from me. He said to say NO. And then he empowered me to do it. He doesn't just sit there with a pen and pad saying Hummmm and Oh really? He knows his stuff. When I first began fighting BP he enocouraged me to take it as a challenge. Not in so many words of course,,but that was what I was hearing. The fight hasn't always been easy, but he alos taught me how to reteart if needed. Guess I'm feeling better now.

it's nice to hear a good story about a pdoc.  i was beginning to feel guilty that i was the only one who had a rreally good pdoc and therapist. i know how much i've been blessed and i'm glad hear that others have also had extraordinary experiences with some docs as well. i too wish everyone could see a great therapist and dr like mine. thanks for sharing.
