Well its MardiGras in Mobile AL( which is the birthplace of MardiGras in the U.S.). That means alot of drinking, partying, late nights, parades, Masquerade Balls, yadee, yadeee ,ya. Tonight is my parade and ball and it kicks off around 3pm for the riders and ends around 4 or 5 in the morning. My pdoc told me I shouldnt be a part of MardiGras because of the drinking and such,I told her that I am not an alcoholic, and if I drink I do it in moderation. I honestly don't see what the big deal is. I drink once a year, which happens to be tonight through Ash Wednesday.

your doc might not want you to drink due to interactions with meds you might be on. I'm not supposed to drink but I do anyway.  Roll Eyes

OK maybe I overdid it "little" bit. Since my wife was sick and was unable to go to the ball with me , I was on my own. Luckily I left my car at my parents house and had arranged a ride home just in case I had too much to drink. The ride came in handy. I had a great time and I got home safely. One ball down four to go.

I play in a dixieland band--not a very good one, but each fat tuesday we play a mardi gras celebration at an episcopalian church in SF--there is food and wine, and communion is passed around during the celebration, which I have never seen anywhere else. This year I am gonna say, no, dont wanna do it, due to that interminable talent show they always do.--sorry, St Gregory!
